Later, Cesare attends Mass on Palm Sunday, celebrated by Savonarola. During the ceremony, Nicolas Machiavelli discusses Cesare hoping to join the clandestine opposition to Savonarola. Ironically, Machiavelli tends to Cesare a sling, made with palm leaves tied in a bow shape.
